Chesebro Canyon and the open space around Paramount Ranch back directly onto Agoura Hills neighborhoods, and that oak woodland pushes roof rats toward attics every fall as soon as nights cool in October, along with steady gopher activity on the greenbelts and hillside lots year round.
The Lake Lindero area and other well irrigated, mature landscaped streets see the same Argentine ant pattern every May as the rest of the region, ants moving indoors as lawns and gardens get watered more through spring and into early summer.
Open space trails through town also mean snakes are a normal part of the landscape here, more common on lots that back up to Chesebro Canyon or other undeveloped hillside, and we treat the perimeter to make the yard less appealing rather than reacting to a sighting.
