Bee Control
Bee control is a specialized service, and the professionals at Facility Pest Control are trained to handle the job. Bees are common around urban areas, but they are drawn to the Southern California climate primarily in the spring. They can also be dangerous to people and pets when defending their colonies.
Bee swarms seek out hollow openings, water, and other resources. Once they find a nesting spot, they can begin producing honey and combs in only three days. Pets and children are especially vulnerable—running the risk of stings if they disturb a nest. If the queen gets hurt, the swarm fights to protect her, which can compound the seriousness of the situation.
Mosquito Control
Mosquitoes are not only a nuisance but they can also be harmful to humans and pets. If you have seen them on your property, it is important to treat them as soon as possible. This is because mosquitoes can transmit a number of diseases, including St. Louis Encephalitis (SLE), Western Equine Encephalitis (WEE), West Nile Virus (WNV), Zika Virus (ZIKV) and Malaria. Contact Facility Pest Control today to find out how to control the mosquito population on your property.
Mosquitoes breed in standing water. Sources of standing water can include flower vases, birdbaths, clogged gutters, wading pools, old tires, catch basins, and more. It is important to remember that mosquitoes need just a few ounces of water to breed. Adult mosquitoes can also be found in vegetation during the day. This includes bushes, long grass, and overgrown weeds around your home. So, it is important to keep these areas maintained.
Mosquitoes can be difficult to control on your own, so let the experts at Facility Pest Control handle mosquito control needs before they get out of hand.
Rodent & Gopher Control
Facility Pest Control technicians will trap and remove rats and mice, as well as provide options to secure entrance points for ongoing rodent control. If you hear noises in your attic or start seeing small droppings, you could have rats, squirrels, or other rodents living in your home.
An opening the size of a quarter is enough for rodents to make their way into your home. Roof rats typically build nests in high places, including attics, ceilings, and trees. Removing them is especially important, as rats carry a variety of diseases that can be spread through contact with their droppings or through the ticks and fleas that feed on them.
For our gopher control services, we offer two highly effective forms of gas treatment to rid your property of gophers:
- Aluminum phosphide is used when the area being treated is thoroughly watered
- Carbon monoxide is used when the treatment area is very dry
Both of these treatments require special handling and should only be applied by trained professionals. If you are in need of gopher control, please call 818-521-6892 to schedule an appointment.
Rodent Trap Setting Programs
For the convenience of our customers, we offer two separate programs for managing rodent infestations on your property.
One Week Program
This includes a total of three visits. At the initial visit, the traps are set. The technician will work to identify the point(s) of entry and will provide a free estimate for rodent proofing the property. Over the course of the next week, the technician returns two separate times to check the traps and remove any dead rodents from the property.
One Month Program
This program includes a total of five visits. At the initial visit, the traps are set. The technician also works to identify the point(s) of entry and provides a free estimate for rodent proofing. In the next month, the technician returns four times, once each week, to check the traps and remove any dead animals from the property.
Bed Bug Treatment
The professionals at Facility Pest Control are specially trained to remove bed bug infestations in order to ensure proper bed bug treatment and to prevent re-infestation. Bed bugs are small insects that live on animal or human blood. They have flat bodies about the size of an apple seed, but after feeding, their bodies swell and are a reddish color. Each female bed bug lays hundreds of eggs during her lifetime.
Bed bugs often enter your home through luggage, clothing, used beds, couches, and other items. They can flatten their bodies to fit into tiny spaces. Bed bugs don’t make nests like other insects, but they tend to hide in groups. They are typically found in mattresses, box springs, bed frames, and headboards where they can bite people easily in the night.
Our service area includes Agoura Hills, Woodland Hills, Tarzana, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Encino, Van Nuys, and more.
